5 unique men's shirts for eye-catching outfits

by Michael Duguet August 03, 2015

Every man should have a collection of high quality shirts in their wardrobe for a range of smart and casual occasions, but there are some events that call for something a little out of the ordinary. Stone Rose shirts are designed for the distinguished gentleman who wants to add a pop of color or a little something special to his closet, so we've picked five of the more unique choices from the Stone Rose collection for the times where a touch more pizzazz is necessary.

1. Ombre

Ombre is very much in fashion right now, and it's likely you've seen the women's trends for ombre hair, nails and clothing. However, it's less often that ombre is seen in men's clothes, which is why Stone Rose's attention-grabbing shirt is so fantastic. Ultimately it's just a classic navy and white pinstripe shirt... which has been carefully dipped in bright fuchsia for a thoroughly modern and unusual twist. It's a brilliant shirt for a night on the town; though be sure to keep the rest of the outfit nice and simple in order to let that ombre hue speak for itself.

2. Floral

Whilst floral is often restricted to women's outfits, feminine touches are very in right now in men's fashion, and the bright floral design of this dress-down shirt is a perfect example. The bright pops of yellow, purple and pink give it a summery vibe, making it perfect for outdoor events like picnics, BBQs and weddings.

3. Punchy patterns

This shirt is almost an updated version of the Hawaiian shirt, with its bold pattern and bright colors. Made from an eye-catching Turkish fabric and with short sleeves, it's a cool, lightweight, garment designed for lovely hot weather and a whole host of casual occasions.

4. Polkadots

Although pinstripes tend to be the pattern of choice for smart-casual shirts, polkadots are the new kid on the block and they make a brilliant alternative. The small polkadots of this navy and white number makes the shirt subtle enough to wear with a full suit, yet unusual enough that they still make a statement.

5. Geometric

Any shirt can be given a unique and modern touch with a little geometric pattern, which is why this red, short-sleeved shirt is fantastic. Much like the polkadots, it's a subtle twist but one that will make you stand out from the crowd. Plus, it's easy to wear; let it speak for itself by wearing it alone, or layer it up with a light sweater or cardigan on chillier days.

Three steps to going casual after work

by Michael Duguet February 23, 2016

Three steps to going casual after workAt any weekday happy hour, bars are full of the stuffy business type. The guys in their suits that look stressed and are only there to drink away their workday sorrows. Don't be that guy! That's the guy people avoid, the one the bartender doesn't want to serve and no one wants to flirt with. There is no need to go home and change though. Here are a couple of simple ways to leave work behind and change a professional suit into a slick, casual outfit.

1. Lose the tie and jacket

Ties and jackets are what make a suit seem constraining. Even the most pulled-together suits look hot and uncomfortable. Before heading out with friends or meeting up with someone for a first date, stuff the tie in a desk drawer in the office and lose the jacket once inside a bar or restaurant.
