Menswear Fashion Forecast 2014

Even though it doesn't feel like it in many areas of the world right now, spring is right around the corner. For most of us, spring hits with no warning – and we haven't even given any thought to our wardrobes. Since fashion moves forward with each season, doing a little modification and updating will help us to feel relevant, current, and in the loop. Spring 2014 is no exception to the evolution of fashion, and in fact, there are many trends that you be aware of as you dust off your warmer-weather clothes. As you formulate your wardrobe, you might want to bear these forthcoming trends in mind!

1. Floral Print

Even though floral may seem kind of feminine, the most prominent menswear designers are starting to utilize floral print heavily. Come spring time, you'll be seeing floral print everywhere. Leaders in menswear such as Gucci and Prada have flaunted their floral print suits during fashion weeks all over the world in the past couple of months. It's likely you'll see this look expanding into other pieces of wardrobe such as dress shirts, trousers, silk shirts, and even t-shirts.

2. Soft Man Bags.

Men finally have an excuse to wear man bags with the emergence of new technology such as iPads and other types of tablets. They're a great look for professionals and city-slickers, and will soon become a wardrobe essential for men. Prominent designers such as Burberry, JW Anderson, and Jil Sander have debuted the new styles and options for menswear bags in fashion weeks all across the globe – and they've received absolutely rave reviews.

3. Loose Suits.

After years of menswear suits being perfectly tailored, as if with an exacto knife, we're finally seeing the suit go in the opposite direction. Suits of 2014 are evolving with a comfy and casual charm. Of course, Versace and Fendi have found a way to make these suits appear absolutely dapper as opposed to being messy and unkempt.

Here are some fashion DON'T's For Spring and Summer 2014

1. Board Shorts [ SwimWear Purposes ]

Board shorts are horribly outdated. While it might be difficult to part with those obnoxiously, mass produced, shorts you've been rocking for the past 5 years... all good things must come to an end. This year, we've seen a lot of trunks that reach somewhere around the mid-thigh region, in a solid color. Step out of your comfort zone and engage THIS age. You'll feel like a different man- in a good way.

2. Skinny Jeans.

Skinny Jeans have also been ruled out of the “cool” realm this season. What is in: denim used with recycled material, different colored/fades of denim, and obviously, raw denim.
