Why I love Jared Lang Men's Shirts

by Michael Duguet May 22, 2014

I've been following men's fashion for quite some time, so I was really excited when I heard back in 2009 that Montreal designer Jared Lang was releasing a line of men's button-down shirts. When it comes to fashion, Montreal has always been a home to innovators, so it's not surprising to see that Jared Lang's line of men's designer shirts features the elevated level of design you see from other Canadian, Italian and French fashion companies.

The attention to detail present in Jared Lang men's shirts is astounding. Intricate patterns pop from the collars, adorn the buttons and line the sleeves. On any given design, you get the complete package from the fit to the color to the print and detailing. It is also very clear that Jared Lang menswear cares deeply about art and fashion, and their designs aren't just there to bring them business. Some of their more interesting designs come from their collaboration with Nelson de la Nuez, a notable artist with a divine eye for fashion.

All of the Jared Lang shirts for men I've seen share one thing in common: the creative touch. Every check, strike, pattern, texture, graphic and color is a product of extreme creativity from their team of designers, and I wish that more men's fashion companies would follow in the footsteps of Jared Lang. People are catching on, though – namely, high-profile famous folks like Ice T, Darius Rucker and boxer Joseph Agbeko are all huge fans of Jared Lang designer men's shirts, and you can commonly see them sporting their favorite fashions from Jared Lang.

The time of formal, unimaginative and bland men's shirts is ending as designers like Jared Lang step in to transform our notions of what it means to be a fashionable man. Men's Jared Lang shirts have only been around for a short time, but they have already made an enormous impact on the fashion world, specifically by setting the men's fashion world on fire at ProjectNYC with their incredible display of fresh designs.

by Michael Duguet March 03, 2016 1 Comment

Do you see it? That tiny little light at the end of the long, dark, depressing tunnel that is winter is getting closer and closer. Spring is approaching, but what exactly does that mean when it comes to your wardrobe? Well, first of all, make sure you have a nice space in your closet for that bulky overcoat for the next eight months. Now that we’ve solved that problem, here are four styles we're likely to see for spring and summer 2016.

1. Embrace the floral designs

Floral for men? You better believe it! Floral patterns, both subtle and bold, will add a light, airy quality to your wardrobe this spring/summer.

Three steps to going casual after work

by Michael Duguet February 23, 2016

Three steps to going casual after workAt any weekday happy hour, bars are full of the stuffy business type. The guys in their suits that look stressed and are only there to drink away their workday sorrows. Don't be that guy! That's the guy people avoid, the one the bartender doesn't want to serve and no one wants to flirt with. There is no need to go home and change though. Here are a couple of simple ways to leave work behind and change a professional suit into a slick, casual outfit.

1. Lose the tie and jacket

Ties and jackets are what make a suit seem constraining. Even the most pulled-together suits look hot and uncomfortable. Before heading out with friends or meeting up with someone for a first date, stuff the tie in a desk drawer in the office and lose the jacket once inside a bar or restaurant.
